Data Scientist Rate: up to £450/day Outside IR35 Contract Length: 6 Months + Likely Extension Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite in Central London Working Hours: 37.5/week
An established organisation is seeking a Data Scientist to join a forward-thinking data function focused on advanced analytics predictive modelling plus data-driven decision support. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex high-value problems using modern data science tooling within a collaborative delivery-focused environment.
The Data Scientist role suits a hands-on Data Scientist who is comfortable working across the full lifecycle from data exploration through to model development validation plus deployment support.
Responsibilities for the Data Scientist:
- Develop statistical models machine learning solutions analytical frameworks to address complex business problems
- Explore large structured semi-structured datasets to identify patterns trends predictive signals
- Build test refine models using modern data science libraries within cloud-based platforms
- Translate analytical outputs into clear insights recommendations for technical non-technical stakeholders
- Work closely with data engineers analysts to ensure models are production-ready scalable
- Validate model performance manage bias ensure outputs are robust explainable reliable
- Contribute to continuous improvement of data science practices tooling governance
Essential Skills for the Data Scientist:
- Strong experience in data science using Python with libraries such as Pandas NumPy scikit-learn or similar
- Solid grounding in statistics probability machine learning techniques
- Proven experience working within cloud environments such as AWS Azure or GCP
- Experience working with SQL large analytical datasets
- Ability to clearly communicate complex analytical concepts to a broad audience
- Strong problem-solving skills with a delivery-focused mindset
- Relevant academic qualifications in Data Science Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline
Desirable Skills for the Data Scientist:
- Experience with deep learning frameworks advanced modelling techniques
- Familiarity with MLOps concepts model monitoring deployment pipelines
- Exposure to tools such as Databricks MLflow feature stores
- Experience working in Agile product-led delivery environments
- Understanding of data governance ethics model explainability
- Relevant professional certifications relating to cloud data platforms machine learning or analytics
