Infrastructure Engineer Location: 2 days per week onsite in Central London Contract Length: 12 Months + Ext Pay Rate: £400 - £450 per day (Outside IR35)Hours: 35 per week

Job Overview - Infrastructure Engineer We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to deliver a series of security-focused infrastructure refresh projects for an education organisation working towards Cyber Essentials certification. This role is not part of day-to-day BAU support, but is instead dedicated to project delivery that will strengthen endpoint security, resilience, and compliance across the estate.

The Infrastructure Engineer will be pivotal in building and deploying Intune policies and security baselines, improving software packaging and rollouts for staff and students, and supporting core infrastructure work across Hyper-V, Group Policy, monitoring, disaster recovery and SAN.

Key Responsibilities - Infrastructure Engineer:

• Build, test and deploy Intune policies, security baselines and compliance controls aligned to Cyber Essentials
• Improve software packaging and manage controlled rollouts to staff and student devices
• Build and configure Hyper-V VMs from scratch and support core Windows infrastructure tasks
• Create and manage Group Policies and apply security hardening across the environment
• Integrate infrastructure into monitoring systems and support visibility improvements
• Support Disaster Recovery and SAN work as part of the wider refresh programme

Skills & Experience Required - Infrastructure Engineer:

• Proven experience delivering project-based infrastructure refresh work as an Infrastructure Engineer
• Strong Microsoft Intune experience (policy creation, testing, deployment)
• Hyper-V experience including VM builds and configuration
• Group Policy administration
• Exposure to monitoring systems, Disaster Recovery and SAN environments

Desirable Skills - Infrastructure Engineer:

• Any relevant Microsoft or Infrastructure certifications
• Security hardening aligned to Cyber Essentials (or equivalent)
• Education sector experience
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication
