SAP ILM / Archiving Consultant (OpenText) Salary: Up to £95,000 + Bonus + Benefits Location: Leeds - Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)Working Hours: 40 hours per week - Full time Job Type: PermanentA globally established organisation is seeking an experienced SAP ILM / Archiving Consultant to support a large-scale SAP transformation programme.
This role will focus on designing, implementing and optimising SAP Data Archiving and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions across complex SAP landscapes, including ECC, S/4HANA and BW/4HANA. You will play a key role in ensuring data compliance, system performance and efficient data lifecycle management within a modern SAP environment.
Responsibilities for the SAP ILM / Archiving Consultant:
- Design and deliver SAP Data & Document Archiving and ILM solutions across ECC, S/4HANA and BW/4HANA
- Integrate SAP with OpenText solutions (Archive Center, Document Access) and SAP Content Server via ArchiveLink
- Define and implement data retention and archiving strategies aligned to regulatory requirements (GDPR, SOX, etc.)
- Collaborate with BASIS, Security and business teams to manage data growth and system performance
- Support archiving readiness across SIT, UAT, performance testing and go-live cycles
- Monitor archiving jobs, troubleshoot issues and ensure system stability and throughput
- Ensure solutions meet compliance, audit and operational requirements
Essential Skills for the SAP ILM / Archiving Consultant:
- Strong experience with SAP ILM and Data Archiving
- Hands-on experience with SAP ADK, SARA, SARI and ArchiveLink
- Strong knowledge of OpenText solutions including Archive Center and Document Access
- Experience working across SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments
- Understanding of ArchiveLink architecture, storage categories and archiving objects
- Experience managing archiving jobs, monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues
- Strong understanding of data compliance requirements (GDPR, SOX, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder collaboration across technical and business teams
Desirable Skills for the SAP ILM / Archiving Consultant:
- Experience with BW/4HANA archiving (NLS/NSE)
- Exposure to advanced ILM concepts such as retention policies and legal holds
- Experience with OpenText Extended ECM and high availability setups
- Experience with automation, scripting or ABAP enhancements
- Experience supporting S/4HANA transformations or data volume management initiatives
