Graduate Applications Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Applications Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting customers across a range of advanced metals and alloy applications.
This role sits at the front end of the engineering process, working with customers to understand their materials, products and manufacturing requirements before projects are fully defined.
You will help assess whether customer materials and alloys can be processed successfully, supporting technical evaluations, proof-of-concept work, material analysis and process development activities.
The position would suit a graduate who enjoys the technical side of engineering, problem solving and working directly with customers to develop practical engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with customers to understand materials and processing requirements
- Support proof-of-concept and feasibility studies
- Assist with analysis of metals, alloys and manufacturing processes
- Help determine suitable manufacturing routes and process parameters
- Prepare technical reports and customer documentation
- Support trials, testing and engineering investigations
- Liaise with engineering and manufacturing teams throughout projects
- Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Manufacturing Engineering or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interest in manufacturing processes and materials
- Comfortable communicating with customers and technical teams
- Keen to develop a career in applications, process or project engineering
