Azure Infrastructure Engineer - 12 month fixed term contract
We are looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure engineer who enjoys a challenge at an ever-growing technology focused business. You will play a key role in supporting the business to implement solutions that provide benefits to our users and clients, whilst ensuring all the existing solutions are well maintained and supported.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and can be based in our Birmingham, Croydon or Belfast City centre office with a hybrid workstyle.
What does the role entail?
- Maintaining and implementing new solutions within Isio’s Azure tenants, ensuring alerts are handled, virtual machines are maintained, new resources are setup to best practise etc.
- Implementation and maintenance of Automation tooling to improve efficiency of deployments, maintenance tasks and any other recurring activities.
- Implementation and maintenance of Monitoring tooling such as DataDog to report on performance and availability of systems across multiple tenants.
- Maintaining and implementing new solutions within Isio’s M365 stack including Entra, InTune, M365 Admin Portal, Defender.
- Aid with improving the security posture of the business by ensuring security standards are met, that everything is setup to best practise, assisting with providing information for audits to renew and new accreditations.
- Working on varying different small to large projects to implement new solutions and improve existing ones within the IT stack.
- Working with the service desk as an escalation point, to highlight key issues and tackle root causes of issues that arise.
- Ensuring implemented resources are fully documented in Confluence or equivalent documentation tool.
What we’re looking for?
Essential:
- Strong proven knowledge of Azure services such as Entra ID, App Services, Storage, Backups, Conditional Access, Front Door, Load Balancers.
- Experience with O365 Suite Administration, Intune & Defender for Endpoint.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting suite.
- Strong experience of using tools to automate regular activities (e.g. Tines, N8N, Zapier, Power Automate, Powershell)
- Use of Azure DevOps (or similar tools) to deploy Infrastructure As Code into Azure – experience with ARM or Bicep templates and YAML pipelines.
- Experience of cloud native/serverless components hosted in Microsoft Azure including containerisation and App Service Plans
- Strong system monitoring tooling experience to identify and troubleshoot problems with performance and availability.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders effectively that have varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Great communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong technical knowledge with an aptitude for learning.
- Strong documentation skills to ensure all solutions are documented to a high standard.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
- Change management experience.
Desirable:
- Experience of Windows server administration – Active directory, DNS, IIS, Update Management, Performance troubleshooting through methods such as log analysis.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards, e.g. Experience working in an ISO 27001 certified environment
- Sharepoint online experience
- Familiarity with mail flow and security solutions such as ProofPoint and ONDmarc
- Experience working in a regulated industry, e.g. telecoms, financial services, utilities.
- Experience of Jira & Confluence for work management & documentation
- Networking experience – LAN/WAN/SDWAN/Azure networking such as routing, firewalls, network peering etc.
- Microsoft certifications relating to Infrastructure within Azure.
- Experience of configuration management database tooling.
