Job summary
We are recruiting for Stoma Administrator who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards "working together, improving together".
Main duties of the job
Open mail, respond appropriately and deal with answer phone messages on a daily basis .
Deal with patient enquiries on the telephone in a sensitive and reassuring manner and refer appropriately.
Arrange appointments for clinics (organising transport where required) and home visits. Type stoma clinic letters and process correspondence for despatch to GPs, other departments and hospitals.
Maintain stationary stock levels and office supplies as appropriate, ordering as required.Liaise with Wessex Stoma Care Group and organise meetings as appropriate

Job responsibilities
You will provide clerical and administrative support to the stoma care department. Be responsible for the general administration within the Stoma Service and supporting the Stoma Nurses through the effective delivery of central administrative roles and duties.
You will often be the first point of contact and focal point for the service requiring clear communication and liaison skills.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- ECDL or equivalent
- 5 GCSE'S or equivalent, to include English and Maths
Skills and Aptitudes
- Good communication skills
- Effective IT skills - including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Methodical organised approach
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to use a variety of communication methods e.g. email, telephone, face to face tailoring style and approach relevant to the situation
- Knowledge of medical terminology
