Senior/Lead Data Engineer

Cheltenham, hybrid (flexible but with ability to go to site)

c£40k + good benefits

This is a great time to join my client in Cheltenham. The transition to cloud services is underway and you will take responsibility for developing the data team and technologies to align to the new services.

This role will lead a small existing data team and focus on the adoption of new technologies across data warehousing, integration and Cloud migration. As art of a broader Cloud migration programme, this will include areas such as Data Lakehouse and factories, machine learning and AI to maximise efficiency across Data Management.

The core elements of the role include:

• Line management of the Data Team.
• Lead continuous improvement of the data platform.
• Cloud migration transitioning data systems to cloud with minimum disruption.
• System owner for new Data Warehouse and data integration tools.
• Build capability in emerging data technologies.
• Leading strategic thinking around data to ensure alignment with business strategy.

You will need to demonstrate:

• The ability to lead successful data projects.
• Strong core knowledge on Data Warehousing and Integration.
• Expertise in Cloud Data Services (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI tools associate with data analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across SQL and ETL tools.
