Management Accountant
Barnes Roffe Recruitment have partnered exclusively with a long established and fast growing Technology company in their search for a Management Accountant.
As Management Accountant, you will be is central to the financial reporting and decision making of the businesses in UK and Europe, focusing on preparing financial reports, analysing data and advising on financial planning and decision-making. Enabling senior management to make informed decision that drive growth and profitability.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Together with the Finance Manager, assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the Group Companies (UK and EU offices) including reporting and analysis
- Manage and supervise the Assistant Management Accountant.
- In conjunction with the Finance team, to review and develop existing ERP and financial reporting to enhance efficiencies and automation.
- Working with the Finance Manager assist with the annual audit process.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for the UK and European companies and provide VAT and import-related information to external accountants for subsidiary companies.
- Working with the Finance Manager and ERP, review processes to ensure that they are best suited and where appropriate propose changes aligned to automation
- Revision and preparation of weekly Company cashflows
- Month-end procedures, which involve reconciliations and closing of ledgers
- Calculation and posting of management journals, such as accruals and prepayments, corrections in coding etc
- Prepare sales figures and submit to selected Stakeholders monthly
- Preparing sales commission figures for monthly payroll and to ensure that payroll journals are posted
- Overview of staff expense claims and credit card spending
- Review and highlight any internal financial processes that could be improved to increase accuracy and efficiency
Requirements:
- Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
- At least 5 years+ management accounting experience
- Experience of working within European countries, France, The Netherlands, Germany and Spain
- Experience of managing across EU statutory reporting including VAT Returns, Confirmation of Statements etc
- An understanding of inventory management processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced IT skills, including accounting ERP systems, Excel, and Power BI, essential for financial analysis and reporting
