They are looking for an IT Support Technician Apprentice to work at their facility in Wellingborough. As part of the team, you will be part of an International Company, working with the local UK team, but liaising with colleagues from Denmark, France, Germany, Macedonia, Mexico, India and the US, ensuring IT controls and integrity in line with global policy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with providing IT support by resolving user queries and faults in a ticketing system and managing expectations and in line with service level agreements
  • Diagnose ICT problems/faults using the required troubleshooting methodology and tools
  • Document or escalate ICT tasks as appropriate to ensure a clear audit trail and progression of issues
  • Creating user accounts and performing access control
  • Administer security access requirements and permissions for employees
  • Install and configure relevant software and hardware as appropriate for example: mobile apps, printers, scanners, projectors, and cameras
  • Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimise computer systems
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining networks and servers
  • Apply appropriate testing methodologies to hardware or software
  • Work closely with the IT Manager internally to help develop systems, processes, and tools to assess and increase compliance within the organisation
  • Support the roll out of upgrades, new systems, and applications
  • Apply the appropriate security policies to ICT tasks in line with organisational requirements, including employee training
  • Assisting IT Manager in ensuring policies are in line with local regulations and corporate requirement, support in hosting visits and audits, completing reporting requirements to ensure legal compliance

Personal Specification:

  • Able to commute to Park Farm South, Wellingborough – car driver beneficial
  • Keen interest in IT
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability over time to work independently, with integrity, identifying own priorities and following instructions
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and communicate with employees of all levels, across different functions and cross borders

  • 6 hours of dedicated training time every week.
  • Possible full time permanent position upon completion of the apprenticeship
