We are expanding our European operations and seeking a strategic and driven Indirect Procurement Manager to strengthen our regional procurement capabilities.
About the Role The Indirect Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing marketing‐related indirect procurement activities across JD’s operations in Europe, with a focus on media buying, creative & agency services, event & activation, PR, brand campaign and mar‐tech solutions. This role will partner closely with business and regional stakeholders to drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and strategic sourcing initiatives supporting JD’s growth in Europe.
Responsibilities
• Category Ownership & Sourcing — Own the sourcing lifecycle for marketing categories across Europe, including media buying (programmatic, digital and offline), marketing & creative agencies, PR & events, brand activation and martech solutions.
• Cost & Value Management — Build and run rigorous agency and media rate-card management, benchmarking and campaign-level ROI tracking to keep spend effective and transparent.
• Strategic Sourcing — Shape category strategies aligned with JD’s global frameworks, adapting to local market nuances and regulatory requirements across European markets.
• Commercial & Contracting — Lead RFPs, commercial negotiation, contract structuring and ongoing supplier governance, including SLA/KPI monitoring, performance reviews and continuous improvement.
• Cross-functional Collaboration — Partner with Marketing, Finance, Legal and Operations teams to ensure smooth, compliant project execution from scoping to close-out.
• Insight & Analytics — Deliver spend analytics and market insights to support decision-making, consolidate volumes and uncover saving and value-add opportunities.
• Global Alignment — Act as the regional bridge to the global procurement center in China — aligning strategies, sharing local market intelligence and leveraging global leverage.
• Risk & Compliance — Champion JD’s ethical, sustainability and quality standards across every supplier relationship.
Qualifications
• A marketing procurement specialist — with at least 6 years of indirect procurement experience, the majority spent in marketing or media-related categories within ecommerce, retail, consumer brands or agency settings.
• Deeply familiar with the European media and agency ecosystem, including rate-card mechanics, media planning validation and performance-based compensation models.
• Commercially sharp and data-driven, equally comfortable with spreadsheets, spend models and board-level storytelling.
• A skilled negotiator and stakeholder manager who can earn the trust of creative teams and suppliers alike.
• A culturally agile operator who thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed, cross-border environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, Marketing or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Fluent English; other European languages a strong plus.
• Experience working in a multicultural, fast‐paced, and matrix organization.
