JGA Recruitment are partnering with an exciting AI startup making waves in the PropTech industry.
They are seeking a Lead AI / Python Engineer to play a pivotal role in scaling their AI-driven platform and shaping the engineering culture of a high-growth SaaS business.
The Role:
This is a high-impact leadership role suited to a technically exceptional engineer who enjoys building production-grade AI systems, architecting scalable backend infrastructure, and mentoring high-performing teams.
You will work cross-functionally with Product, AI, Engineering, and Design to deliver intelligent backend systems that directly impact customers and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build scalable backend systems and APIs using Python
- Write, review, and maintain clean, well-tested, production-ready code
- Contribute to technical strategy, architecture decisions, and engineering standards
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture
- Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Drive innovation in AI integration, automation, and platform scalability
- Ensure systems are secure, performant, and maintainable
Requirements
- First-class or strong degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (AI, SaaS, or automation platforms preferred)
- Deep expertise in Python, with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures
- Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate across engineering teams
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
The role is paying up to £150k base salary + meaningful equity.
