Payroll Implementation Consultant
Salary: £36,000 – £50,000
Location: Birmingham
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on how to improve and modernise their payroll operations
- Assess existing payroll setups and identify gaps, risks and opportunities for change
- Help clients select and implement payroll and workforce management technology
- Provide specialist input across payroll projects, audits and transformation programmes
- Work alongside project teams to help deliver complex client engagements from start to finish
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and act as a trusted payroll advisor
- Support business development through proposals, tenders, presentations and client meetings
- Contribute to developing new payroll solutions, processes and industry best practice
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced payroll professional with a strong background in UK payroll operations
- Someone who understands payroll beyond processing, including controls, compliance, systems and wider business impact
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Comfortable analysing large volumes of payroll data and using Excel to identify trends, issues and discrepancies
- Confident working with payroll technology and systems, with exposure to platforms such as Workday, Oracle, SAP or Dayforce
- Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients
- Naturally curious and commercially minded, with an interest in technology, transformation and improving payroll functions
- Previous experience in consulting, implementation, transformation or payroll technology would be a strong advantage
- International payroll exposure would be beneficial
