Med-tech Lawyer (Fractional)

Fractional Regulatory Legal Consultant (MedTech / HealthTech)

London-based tech company | Remote | ~1 day per week | c.£150/hour

We’re working with a high-growth, product-led technology company at the intersection of consumer health and proprietary motion-sensing technology.

Their apps have scaled to 15M+ users globally, and they are now entering a critical phase: formal regulatory expansion across the UK and US.

They are looking for an experienced Regulatory Legal Consultant to lead and run this process.

The Role

This is a hands-on, commercially focused regulatory role where you will:

  • Lead the UK and US regulatory strategy and registration process
  • Advise on product classification (wellness vs medical device)
  • Navigate and manage interactions with relevant regulators (e.g. MHRA, FDA)
  • Build a practical compliance framework aligned to a scaling tech business
  • Coordinate external advisors where needed (legal, regulatory specialists)
  • Work closely with the Founder and product team to enable safe, scalable growth

This is not a theoretical advisory role - you’ll be expected to own and drive the process end-to-end.

Ideal Profile

We’re looking for a lawyer who combines regulatory depth with commercial pragmatism:

  • Proven experience in MedTech, HealthTech, or Pharma
  • Strong understanding of UK and US regulatory pathways (MHRA / FDA)
  • Experience with digital health, software, or app-based products highly desirable
  • Track record of taking products through regulatory processes, not just advising
  • Comfortable operating in a founder-led, fast-moving environment
  • Able to balance risk, speed, and commercial objectives

Why this role is interesting

  • Work with a product already at global scale (15M+ users)
  • Own a high-impact regulatory workstream from day one
  • Flexible, fractional engagement (~1 day per week)
  • Direct access to Founder and decision-making
  • Opportunity to shape how next-generation health technology scales responsibly

Details

  • Location: Remote (UK preferred, but flexible)
  • Commitment: ~1 day per week (flexible)
  • Rate: c.£150/hour (depending on experience)
  • Start: ASAP
