Sales Director – Capital Markets Technology / SaaS
Sales Director – Capital Markets Technology / SaaS
£110,000 – £150,000 + Commission | UK Remote
Capital Markets | FinTech | Enterprise SaaS | New Business | Institutional Sales
Are you a senior Capital Markets sales professional with an established network of decision-makers across brokers, clearing participants, custodians, investment firms and wealth platforms?
Do you have a track record of winning complex, high-value enterprise technology deals and want the opportunity to take ownership of UK growth for an international Capital Markets technology provider?
We are recruiting a UK Sales Director to lead new client acquisition and revenue growth for an established global FinTech business as it expands its presence within the UK Capital Markets sector.
This is a senior, highly autonomous new-business sales role for someone who already understands the Capital Markets ecosystem, knows the key organisations and decision-makers, and can use those relationships to create and convert significant enterprise opportunities.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of developing the UK market, with a primary focus on acquiring new institutional clients and generating new revenue.
This is not an account-management-led sales position.
We're looking for a genuine enterprise new-business hunter who can build senior relationships, create opportunities, navigate complex buying processes and ultimately close substantial multi-year technology contracts.
You'll have the autonomy to develop and execute the UK sales strategy while working with an established international organisation offering sophisticated technology solutions to Capital Markets firms.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Win new institutional clients and generate new revenue across the UK Capital Markets sector.
You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and executing the UK new-business sales strategy
- Identifying and targeting high-value institutional prospects
- Building a strong pipeline across the UK Capital Markets ecosystem
- Leveraging your existing industry network to open senior-level conversations
- Engaging C-suite, technology, operations and commercial decision-makers
- Owning the complete enterprise sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract signature
- Leading discovery and consultative sales conversations with prospective clients
- Positioning complex enterprise technology and SaaS solutions against client requirements
- Developing compelling commercial propositions and business cases
- Managing complex procurement and stakeholder environments
- Leading commercial negotiations and closing multi-year enterprise agreements
- Building accurate sales forecasts and maintaining strong CRM discipline
- Identifying expansion opportunities within existing strategic accounts
- Working closely with Key Account Management and other internal stakeholders
- Providing market intelligence and competitor insight to help shape product and go-to-market strategy
- Representing the business at relevant Capital Markets conferences, industry forums and networking events
Your Capital Markets Network Will Be Critical
We're particularly interested in candidates who already have an established network of senior decision-makers within organisations such as:
Brokers | Broker-Dealers | Clearing Participants | Custodians | Investment Firms | Banks | Wealth Platforms | Investment Platforms | Asset Managers | Capital Markets Infrastructure Providers
You'll understand how these organisations operate, the challenges their technology and operations teams face, and how enterprise technology purchasing decisions are made.
You'll ideally be able to demonstrate that you've successfully converted industry relationships into new-logo enterprise revenue.
What We're Looking For
You'll be an experienced senior salesperson with a demonstrable track record of selling enterprise technology, software or SaaS solutions into UK Capital Markets organisations.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A strong track record of new-logo acquisition
- Enterprise software / SaaS / FinTech sales experience
- Deep knowledge of the UK Capital Markets landscape
- An established senior network across brokers, clearing participants, custodians and/or investment and wealth platforms
- Experience engaging C-suite and senior institutional decision-makers
- Evidence of closing significant, complex enterprise contracts
- Experience managing long and sophisticated sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
- Strong consultative and solution-selling skills
- Excellent commercial negotiation capabilities
- Experience developing territory and account strategies
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline
- The credibility to represent a global technology organisation at senior industry level
Experience selling solutions involving trading, clearing, settlement, custody, post-trade, securities processing, investment operations or Capital Markets infrastructure would be particularly relevant.
This Role Will Suit You If...
You're commercially ambitious and enjoy creating opportunities rather than inheriting them.
You know the Capital Markets technology landscape and can quickly identify where genuine opportunities exist.
Most importantly, you already have relationships that enable you to engage senior decision-makers and start meaningful commercial conversations.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of UK growth for an international Capital Markets technology business.
You'll have the chance to:
- Build and execute the UK sales strategy
- Target major institutional clients
- Leverage your Capital Markets network
- Sell sophisticated enterprise technology solutions
- Own opportunities from initial engagement through to close
- Influence product and go-to-market strategy
- Work closely with senior leadership
- Operate with significant autonomy
- Play a highly visible role in the organisation's continued international growth
For the right individual, this is an opportunity to combine an established Capital Markets network with a strong technology proposition and build a significant UK business.
