Business Development Manager (UK-Based, Remote, Contract Role)

As we scale our client base, we're looking for an experienced, personable and proactive Business Development Manager to help us reach more high-potential businesses and build meaningful partnerships.

The Role

This is a flexible, remote business development role ideal for someone with a strong sales network or background in digital services. You’ll be responsible for identifying, nurturing and converting leads into clients — with full support from the agency to deliver proposals, presentations, and service delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and reaching out to qualified leads (e.g. DTC eCommerce businesses, online service providers, SMEs)
  • Presenting JOAN Digital’s core service offerings with confidence
  • Building a predictable sales pipeline and managing follow-ups
  • Closing new business and handing over to delivery teams
  • Contributing to offer development and outreach strategies

This Role Is Ideal For:

  • A semi-retired professional , experienced sales exec, or ex-agency partner looking for a purpose-led side role
  • A freelancer or consultant with B2B connections or digital marketing know-how
  • Someone who enjoys autonomy , freedom , and results-based rewards

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development (digital or creative industry preferred)
  • Excellent communication, persuasion and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing own pipeline
  • Bonus: Experience selling digital services (SEO, PPC, websites, etc.)
  • Based in the UK
