As a Lead Software Engineer in the Commercial & Investment Bank - Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and delivering trusted technology products. You will work within an agile team, contributing across multiple technical areas to support our business objectives. Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to solve complex problems
Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by othersIdentify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues and improve operational stabilityLead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentialsDrive communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new and leading-edge technologiesDrives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficiency coding with JavaScript and using front-end UI frameworks such as React or AngularExperience building ASP.NET MVC, Web API, or REST style applicationsProficiency coding in C# with .NET Core or .NET frameworksAbility to develop, debug, and maintain code in a corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languagesUnderstanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and securityExperience in SQL scripting or T-SQL in SQL Server 2019 or higherDemonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practicesProficiency with development toolsets such as Git, Visual Studio 2019/2022, and VS Code

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field
Knowledge of financial services industry and IT systemsHands-on experience with cloud-native development using providers such as AWSFamiliarity with AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar
