As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the award-winning Vida team that is part of the Corporate and Investment Bank Markets Business, you play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products with a focus on security, stability, and scalability.

Job responsibilities

  • \nExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems\n
  • \n

  • \nDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others\n
  • \n

  • \nIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems\n
  • \n

  • \nLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture\n
  • \n

  • \nLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies\n
  • \n

  • \nAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect\n

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

\n

    \n
  • \nSignificant commercial experience developing UI's with hands-on applied experience developing in React\n
  • \n

  • \nHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability\n
  • \n

  • \nAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)\n
  • \n

  • \nProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods\n
  • \n

  • \nProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle\n
  • \n

  • \nAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security\n
  • \n

  • \nDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)\n
  • \n

  • \nIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems\n
  • \n

  • \nPractical cloud native experience\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience in developing, debugging and automated testing (e.g. react testing library / cypress) within a commercial setting\n
  • \n

  • \nExperience collaborating with backend technology teams in designing scalable and reusable RESTful APIs\n

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

\n

    \n
  • \nExposure to frontend libraries such as ag-grid, highcharts, redux as well as Typescript\n
  • \n

  • \nExposure to performance tuning complex UI's would be advantageous.\n
  • \n

  • \nWorking within Investment Bank / Finance Technology\n
  • \n

  • \nTeam leading experience\n
