Software Developer Apprentice
Goal: To learn and contribute to building, testing, and maintaining high-quality web and software applications. Context: Working as part of an established team. Scope: Involvement in the full software development lifecycle, from initial ideas to deployment and post-launch maintenance.
Role
Key Responsibilities
Development
- Write clean, maintainable code; link code to databases (relational/non-relational); debug and fix errors.
Design & UI
- Create effective user interfaces for various platforms; produce simple design documents (e.g., user stories, brand documents, website documentation).
Quality & Testing
- Conduct various types of testing (unit, integration, system) to ensure quality and fix bugs based on priority.
Operations
- Use version control systems (eg. github); build, manage, and deploy code into enterprise environments.
Collaboration:
Work with senior developers and business analysts; document processes; communicate technical solutions to non-technical people.
Training
- Software Development Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard.
- You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship Team to increase your skills.
- Potential full-time position for the right candidate after completion of the apprenticeship.
