About The Role

Our client is a well-respected B2B media and intelligence business, trusted by its professional community for credible, authoritative coverage of the sector it serves. As the media landscape evolves, they're modernising how their editorial team operates, and this role sits right at the centre of that shift.

You'll report on the latest developments affecting the audience, moderate events and webinars, and produce editorial content off the back of those discussions. Just as important, you'll be the human-in-the-loop for the team's editorial AI systems, building and refining the tools and processes that let a small team produce timely, error-free content at a higher frequency, while protecting the trust and credibility the brand has built. It's a role for someone who genuinely wants to shape how AI is used responsibly in journalism, not just use the tools that already exist.

What the Role Involves

• Researching, writing and editing high-quality copy daily, from short updates to long-form pieces
• Tracking regulatory change and emerging trends across the community served
• Building relationships with contributors, sources and an editorial board to keep coverage relevant
• Reviewing and editing colleagues' and contributors' work to publication standard
• Sourcing quotes and insight from figures the audience respects
• Applying sound knowledge of media law
• Implementing and refining AI-assisted systems for monitoring, research and drafting
• Owning the editorial policy governing AI use, including permitted uses, disclosure and accountability
• Applying an understanding of AI-mediated search and answer engine optimisation to grow visibility
• Planning and moderating webinars end to end, including speaker recruitment and follow-up coverage
• Moderating at in-person events, including international travel
• Conducting and presenting video interviews with senior figures
• Filing live coverage from events and sessions as they happen

What You'll Need

• Five or more years' experience in journalism, including B2B or trade media
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and clean, error-free copy to deadline
• Strong communication skills, with experience moderating events and interviewing senior leaders
• The ability to analyse and validate data and turn it into clear, credible stories
• Practical knowledge of media law and experience overseeing published material
• Hands-on experience using AI in editorial work, with a genuine appetite to build and own editorial AI tools
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence working independently and as part of a small team
• Sound, defensible editorial judgment
• A valid passport and willingness to travel internationally
• Desirable: experience automating editorial workflows, formal media law training, AI-for-journalism training.
