Electronics Test Technician / Engineer

I'm currently supporting a North East manufacturer with the appointment of a Test Technician / Test Engineer to join an established electronics test team.

This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, focused on ensuring electronic and power electronic products meet specification and quality standards before release.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Testing products against defined test procedures and specifications
  • Fault finding down to component level using circuit diagrams and schematics
  • Diagnosing and repairing electronic faults on complex assemblies
  • Collating, recording and documenting test results
  • Maintaining and calibrating test equipment
  • Designing and building bespoke test rigs and fixtures where required
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities to improve test efficiency and product quality

I'm particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience using:

  • Oscilloscopes
  • Multimeters
  • Function Generators
  • Current Meters
  • Power Analysers

Backgrounds could include:

Experience within power electronics would be highly advantageous, including exposure to:

  • IGBTs
  • Converters & Inverters
  • DC-DC Converters
  • Power Supplies
  • High Voltage Systems
  • Three-Phase Electrical Systems
  • Digital & Analogue Electronics

Candidates with an HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering are encouraged to apply, although the business is also open to individuals with a strong electronics background who are looking to further develop their skills through structured on-the-job training.
