3rd Line Engineer

Are you an experienced 3rd line systems engineer looking for a new challenge? We're looking for a systems engineer to join a high-performing team, working across mainstream and bespoke systems to diagnose issues, deliver projects, and drive enterprise improvements with a customer-first mindset.

This role offers hybrid working however you must be commutable to the HQ in Newcastle on a weekly basis.

About the role:

• Monitor alerts, performance issues, or emerging risks.
• Act as the third-line escalation point, reviewing tickets passed up from 1st/2nd line support.
• Act as technical lead to coordinate rapid recovery of critical systems.
• Work on root-cause analysis for recurring issues, documenting fixes, workarounds, and risks.
• Communicate with stakeholders, explaining technical issues in plain language.
• Monitor, repair, and fine-tune IT services to keep them fit for purpose
• Contribute to IT strategy, enterprise improvements, or new system implementations.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Strong experience in VMware and hybrid Microsoft infrastructure – desktop, servers, Active Directory, and the O365 suite.
• Good stakeholder management experience.
• Ability to lead on various complex troubleshooting issues and lead on a variety of projects.
• Previous experience supporting wider business systems – HR/Finance.
