Are you a recent graduate looking to build a career in data, business analysis, and modern cloud technologies?

We are looking for a Graduate Data Consultant to join our growing team in Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to develop hands-on experience working with business stakeholders, data teams, and modern Microsoft technologies including Azure and Microsoft Fabric.

You will work alongside experienced consultants, analysts, and engineers to help gather business requirements, analyse data, and support the delivery of modern business intelligence and data solutions. You'll gain exposure to a leading Microsoft data stack including Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, SQL and cloud-based analytics technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business users to understand challenges, requirements, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support workshops and meetings to gather and document business requirements.
  • Assist with translating business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Create and maintain business process maps and documentation.
  • Work with stakeholders at various levels across client organisations.
  • Contribute to project documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support testing activities and validation of solutions before delivery.

Data Analysis

  • Gather and explore data from a variety of sources.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities.
  • Assist with data quality assessments and data cleansing activities.
  • Support data and process mapping exercises.
  • Work with experienced engineers and consultants to understand data modelling approaches.
  • Learn and apply data warehousing principles, including dimensional modelling and star schemas.
  • Develop practical experience using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL and Azure-based data and analytics solutions.
  • Help validate solutions against business requirements.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interest in data, technology, and business improvement.
  • Understanding of databases and data analysis concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Desirable

  • Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Awareness of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
  • Experience gained through university projects, placements, internships, or personal projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
