Senior Android Engineer (Loughton)
Job title: Senior Android Engineer.
Reports to: CTO.
Location : Office based role in Debden, Essex, IG10.
Salary: up to £95k.

We are recruiting for an outgoing and enthusiastic individual to join our growing engineering team and work on our native Android application and help us to deliver an exceptional, bug free user experience.

Key Deliverables to include, but not limited to:
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and efficient Kotlin code that adheres to best practices.
- Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of Android applications, focusing on scalability as our user base grows.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers to translate user requirements and mock-ups into engaging, user-friendly features.
- Integrate seamlessly with backend services and APIs, working hand-in-hand with backend engineers.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our technical strategy, including evaluating new tools, libraries, and architectural patterns.
- Maintain a sensible level of documentation.
- Stay up to date with the latest Android development tools, methodologies, and industry best practices.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years developing Android applications in Korlin, including proficiency with Jetpack Compose or Jetpack UI.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and how to integrate them into mobile applications.
- Experience with high-volume, high-traffic applications, and an understanding of how to build scalable and performant features.
- Experience working with payment technologies (such as Open Banking and Card Processing) is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working in high volume work environments with strict time constraints.
- Working on eCommerce platforms is a bonus.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to think critically about system functionality and potential flaws.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
