Jelly Technical are recruiting for a leading manufacturing business based in Leek who are looking for a dedicated IT Support & Systems Technician to join their team. This hands-on role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day IT systems across both office and production environments. Acting as the first point of contact, you will support critical activities in production, warehousing and administration while collaborating closely with central IT and the broader business. This role offers a negotiable salary depending on experience.
The role of an IT Support Technician:
- Act as the primary contact for office and factory users, resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues quickly to ensure continuous business operations.
- Log, track and manage all incoming technical issues using the IT service-management system, escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Set up, configure and maintain vital workplace hardware including laptops, desktops, tablets, printers and scanners.
- Manage the complete IT on boarding and off boarding process for joiners, movers and leavers, including full equipment setup and access configuration.
- Monitor endpoint security, assist with basic network troubleshooting and provide essential support for Microsoft 365 applications and core business systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all company IT assets.
Experience and Qualifications needed for this IT support Technician role:
- Prior experience in a dedicated IT support, helpdesk or systems support role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, basic Microsoft 365 applications, computers, mobile devices and other related equipment.
- Proven ability to diagnose basic technical issues and a structured approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills with the unique ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff.
- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and recognise exactly when to escalate a problem.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
