PDI Technician
PDI Technician | Haddenham | £26,000 pro rata (£19,500 for 9-month contract) | October Start
Ready to get hands-on with technology and play a key role in getting equipment ready for customers?
We’re looking for a PDI Technician to join the Service team of a successful and growing technology-focused business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with equipment, has a sharp eye for detail and takes pride in getting things right first time. You’ll be responsible for preparing, configuring and testing printers and multifunction devices (MFDs) before they head out to customers — making sure everything is working perfectly and ready for installation.
If you’re practical, methodical and comfortable working with technology, this could be the opportunity for you.
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections and setup of printers and MFDs
- Unpacking equipment and checking for any damage
- Fitting consumables, accessories and components
- Carrying out basic configuration and functionality testing
- Preparing equipment for safe transport and installation
- Applying protective wrapping and ensuring equipment is securely packed
- Recording meter readings, serial numbers, asset details and configurations accurately
- Maintaining records of warranties, service contracts, consumables, accessories and software licences
- Supporting stock control by booking equipment in and out and reconciling stock movements
- Identifying and reporting missing or damaged equipment
- Following all relevant health & safety, data security and environmental procedures
Essentially, you’ll make sure every piece of equipment leaving the service centre is ready to perform from day one.
What are we looking for?
- Basic IT literacy and confidence using systems to record information
- The ability to follow technical instructions, checklists and procedures accurately
- An understanding of health & safety when handling equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- A reliable, flexible and positive attitude
- Confidence using basic tools for equipment setup and minor adjustments
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience in a technical, print, IT, warehouse or stock control environment would be advantageous, particularly if you’ve worked with printers, MFDs or similar equipment.
- Manual handling or manufacturer training would also be beneficial, but the key thing is having a practical mindset and a willingness to get stuck in.
Why join?
You’ll be joining a business where success, passion, care, integrity and teamwork genuinely matter.
This is a role where the work you do has a direct impact on the customer experience. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, work accurately and make sure equipment is delivered in the best possible condition.
