Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PCs, laptops, and peripherals
- Deploying and configuring firewalls, switches, and wireless access points
- Conducting site surveys and implementing robust network infrastructure
- Working closely with project managers and clients to ensure seamless delivery
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation
- Providing both on-site and remote support during rollouts
- Ensuring all installations meet security and operational standards
What You’ll Need:
- At least 5 years’ experience in IT support/infrastructure, ideally within an MSP
- Strong networking skills (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Hands-on experience with firewall config (Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall, etc.)
- Solid understanding of switching technologies and wireless networks
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively with overnight stays
- Ability to work independently and represent the business on client sites
Bonus Points For:
- Microsoft certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104, or MS-900)
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+
- Experience with project delivery in field services or site-based environments
