ICT Support Technician Apprentice
As an ICT Support Technician Apprentice within The Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust, your mission is to support staff and students with ICT issues whilst developing your practical skills through a Level 3 ICT apprenticeship.
Role
Provide first-line IT support to staff and students across the Trust.
- Log, prioritise and update support requests through the IT helpdesk
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues
- Support user accounts, passwords, devices, printers and classroom technology
- Gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced IT professionals
- Develop technical and workplace skills through the Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship delivered by TDM
Training
Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
The apprentice will complete the Level 3 Information Communications Technician (ICT) – Support Technician Pathway apprenticeship, delivered by TDM, and will receive dedicated off-the-job training alongside practical workplace experience.
The successful candidate will undertake a 22-month nationally recognised qualification through TDM. This work-based programme includes quarterly online block weeks, weekly off-the-job training and monthly coaching sessions. The apprentice will have a workplace mentor and will complete an external end-point assessment.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for progression within the ICT team and wider Trust and progression onto a higher level or degree apprenticeship subject to organisational requirements and performance.
