The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Software Engineer to design, develop, and support control systems for automated conveyor and loading solutions. Working with Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000, you’ll deliver world-class systems for leading global brands. This is a varied role, balancing office-based software development and testing with on-site commissioning at customer locations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and commission Siemens PLC (S7-1200, S7-1500) and HMI solutions using TIA Portal.
- Modify and troubleshoot ladder logic programs.
- Perform I/O checks, loop testing, FAT/SAT testing.
- Interface with third-party hardware and systems.
- Provide technical support and training to clients.
- Ensure system safety, quality, and compliance with international standards.
About You:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Proven experience commissioning industrial automation systems
- Strong proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal.
- Willing and able to travel globally (approx. 50% of the time)
- Ability to work independently, client-facing, with a solution-focused attitude.
- Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, would be beneficial but not essential.
Working Arrangement:
- Office location: Liverpool, Speke.
- Office Hours: Monday–Thursday 8am–4:30pm, Friday 8am–2:30pm.
- Hybrid working available upon agreement when not travelling.
- Travel required: Approximately 50% internationally and domestically.
