The Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing SaaS provider delivering cutting-edge communication platforms to a global customer base. With significant investment behind them and ambitious growth plans, this is an exciting time to join their expanding Cloud & DevOps team.

Based out of Guildford, you’ll play a key role in shaping, automating, and maintaining cloud database environments that underpin critical business services used by thousands daily.

What you’ll be doing

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Designing, deploying, and administering cloud-based databases across AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Automating infrastructure and database lifecycle management with tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Optimising performance, ensuring backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies are robust
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines for database operations and cloud services
• Working alongside Dev, IT, and Product teams to build scalable and automated environments
• Managing upgrades, patches, and incident resolution within production systems
• Driving improvements in security, compliance, and governance across multi-cloud setups

What we’re looking for

At least 4 years’ hands-on experience in DevOps or Cloud EngineeringProficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and database products such as RDS, DynamoDB, Cloud SQL, or Cosmos DBStrong skills with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)A solid command of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell Good knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL database modelsExperience with CI/CD, Git, and configuration management tools

Nice-to-haves include cloud/database certifications, experience in security & compliance audits, and exposure to data lakes or real-time analytics.
