Role: Senior SQL Developer

Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional travel to Cardiff Contract Length: 6 months, with the option to extend

Day rate £185 per day Inside IR35

About the Role

We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated SQL Developer to join our Software Applications Team. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will:

• Work in structured Scrum teams under experienced leads
• Deliver individual software components
• Be involved in MS SQL Server development, including design, implementation, and performance optimisation
• Broaden your skills through collaboration and mentorship

  Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise MS SQL Server databases (design, implementation, performance tuning)
  • Write complex T-SQL stored procedures and functions to support application development
  • Work within an Agile Scrum team, delivering high-quality database solutions
  • Utilise SQL Server Management Studio (2008-2019) and SSIS packages (2008+) for data workflows
  • Contribute to database normalisation and ER-diagramming for efficient database design

  • Required Skills & Experience

    • Strong T-SQL skills, with experience writing stored procedures and functions
    • Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (2008-2019)
    • Experience creating and using SSIS packages (2008+)
    • Expertise in database design, including normalisation and ER-diagramming

      Desirable Skills:

      ???? Experience with XML Web Services or Web APIs. ???? Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, SOAP UI). ???? Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Azure DevOps, TFS). ???? Exposure to Microsoft Azure Cloud services. ???? Understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR). ???? Proficiency with Redgate SQL developer tools and performance tuning solutions. ???? Experience with High Availability (Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, Always On). ???? Power BI skills for data visualization and reporting.

      Working Arrangements:

      Reporting to Senior Product Specialist 6-month contract, with potential extension Remote-first role, with occasional travel to Cardiff
