Commercial Lead

About Jump24

We're a senior team that builds and maintains complex Laravel applications for ambitious businesses. We don't outsource. We don't offshore. Every line of code is written in-house, and every client gets the same standard of thinking and delivery.

We've helped startups reach multi-million pound exits, supported businesses to attract major investors, and scaled platforms to hundreds of thousands of users. We're trusted by the clients who find us - and we want more of the right people to find us.

Why this role exists

Growth so far has come almost entirely through reputation and referral. That's a sign of a good business - but it's not a commercial strategy. We want to be more deliberate: more consistent pipeline, better quality work, stronger rates, and a clearer path to the clients we do our best work with.

We're also genuinely active in the Laravel community - co-organising events, sponsoring conferences, and building relationships that matter. That community presence is already generating warm inbound and goodwill. The right person will know how to build on that foundation, not replace it.

This role exists to take what's already working and turn it into something more consistent and scalable.

The role

You'll drive commercial strategy for Jump24 - working closely with the founders to define who we should be targeting, how we should be positioning our services, and what a healthy, consistent pipeline looks like for a business like ours.

But this isn't a purely strategic role. You'll need to be hands-on too - whether that's getting involved in marketing activity, supporting proposals, developing partner and referral relationships, or helping shape how we talk about what we do. The size of the business means you'll need to be comfortable doing as much as directing.

In practice, that might look like:

  • Defining our ideal client and building a clear picture of who we should be going after
  • Working with the founders on how our services are packaged and positioned commercially
  • Improving pipeline consistency - making sure good opportunities don't slip through the cracks
  • Developing the referral and partner relationships that already generate good work for us
  • Getting involved in outreach, proposals, and commercial conversations where needed
  • Looking at rate and deal quality - helping us sell on value, not just availability
  • Contributing to marketing activity that supports commercial goals

About you

We're deliberately keeping this open. The right person could come from a number of different backgrounds - commercial, marketing, business development, or a blend of all three. What matters more than your job title is how you think and what you've done.

Agency experience is important. You'll understand the rhythms of project-based work, the challenge of keeping pipeline healthy whilst delivery is happening, and what it takes to retain good clients over the long term.

A technical background isn't essential, but familiarity with software development - how teams work, how projects are scoped, what technical debt actually means for a business - will help you hit the ground running and earn credibility quickly. Experience working in or alongside a tech business is a genuine advantage here.

Beyond that, we're looking for someone who:

  • Understands how a services business grows - and has opinions about it
  • Can think commercially and act practically
  • Is credible in a room with technical buyers and non-technical decision-makers alike
  • Brings energy and discipline to the work - not one or the other
  • Is honest about what they know and curious about what they don't

  • Location

This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based anywhere in the UK. That said, being able to travel to Birmingham and London with reasonable ease is important - for team time, client meetings, and the community events that are central to how we operate.
