Data Engineer – AI/ML (LLM, Agentic AI, Python)

Bournemouth – Onsite (5 days/week)

Full-Time / Fixed-Term Contract

Our client who is a global IT-services & consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong AI/ML, LLM and Python experience to join their technology team in Bournemouth. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and delivering next-generation AI/ML solutions for test automation within the Securities Processing domain.

You will work closely with engineering and QA teams to build intelligent automation capabilities including AI-driven test generation, test prioritisation, defect triage/reporting, coverage analysis and automation framework enablement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement AI/ML, LLM and Generative AI solutions to enhance software testing processes.
  • Build RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems and advanced automation workflows.
  • Design and deploy Agentic AI solutions, including CoPilot/MCP-based workflows.
  • Engineer, train and fine-tune models for test automation use cases.
  • Create scalable, production-ready AI pipelines using Python & ML libraries.
  • Collaborate within an Agile team and contribute to sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives.
  • Build dashboards/UI components using React (nice-to-have).
  • Deploy solutions using Docker/Kubernetes (good-to-have).
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong expertise in AI/ML, LLMs (GPT, Claude) and Generative AI.
  • Proven experience with Agentic AI tools, GitHub Copilot, MCPs.
  • Advanced Python skills – NLTK, NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn.
  • Good understanding of AI/ML algorithms (Regression, Classification, Decision Trees, KNN, K-Means).
  • Experience developing AI-enhanced test automation solutions.
  • Solid grasp of SQL.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, QA processes & automation frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience deploying apps using Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Front-end experience with React.
  • Experience training or fine-tuning ML/LLM models.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • OR equivalent industry experience demonstrating strong Data Science / AI / ML capability.
