We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Architecture and Migration Design Specialist to lead the end-to-end design, planning, and execution of enterprise-grade OpenShift platforms and migration strategies. This role is critical in shaping a robust, scalable, and secure OpenShift environment while ensuring seamless migration of workloads and applications from existing infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across OpenShift, VMware, Pure Storage, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native architectures.
Key Responsibilities OpenShift Architecture & Design- Design target-state OpenShift architectures including cluster topology, networking, and storage.
- Define and implement best practices for multi-zone and multi-region OpenShift deployments.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and enterprise-grade resilience.
- Assess existing infrastructure, applications, and workloads for migration readiness.
- Develop comprehensive migration strategies covering containerization, workload transfer, and data migration.
- Implement migration processes with minimal downtime and operational disruption.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies for smooth migration.
- Design OpenShift deployments integrated with VMware virtualisation environments.
- Leverage VMware tools (vSphere, vCenter, NSX) to optimise cluster performance and interoperability.
- Configure and manage Pure Storage solutions (FlashArray, FlashBlade) to support OpenShift workloads.
- Ensure compatibility, performance optimisation, and operational efficiency across platforms.
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines tailored to OpenShift environments.
- Integrate DevOps workflows using OpenShift-native and third-party tools.
- Automate deployment, scaling and monitoring to enhance application delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure designs and migration plans support long-term scalability and future growth.
- Implement security best practices including RBAC, network policies, and encryption.
- Perform regular security assessments to maintain compliance and governance standards.
- Partner closely with development, DevOps, operations, and architecture teams.
- Produce detailed documentation covering architecture, migration steps, workflows, and configurations.
- Provide technical leadership, training, and advisory support to internal teams.
- Strong experience designing and implementing OpenShift architectures and migrations.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, orchestration, and cloud-native principles.
- Hands-on expertise with VMware (vSphere, vCenter, NSX).
- Experience with Pure Storage solutions (FlashArray, FlashBlade).
- Strong understanding of networking (ingress, load balancing, DNS) and storage frameworks (PVs, dynamic provisioning).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, ArgoCD, etc.
- Strong understanding of HA, scalability, and security in cloud-native environments.
- Proven experience migrating workloads/applications to OpenShift or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting: Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Red Hat OpenShift certifications (RHCSA/OCP Specialist).
- Experience with multi-cluster or hybrid-cloud OpenShift deployments.
- Familiarity with monitoring & logging tools (oTel, Grafana, Splunk stack).
- Knowledge of OpenShift Operators and Helm charts.
- Experience delivering large-scale migration programmes.
