Controls and Instrumentation Engineer
We have an excellent opportunity for a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join an Oil and Gas Engineering Company based in Aberdeen. This opportunity is predominantly office based with offshore trips available throughout the year. The main responsibility will be to develop systems and prepare control and instrumentation deliverables across the full projects lifecycle. You can expect to be tasked with developing designs and schematics, selecting components, developing software, selecting instrumentation and installing/ commissioning control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop PLC systems from scratch based on functional specifications and considering the full project life-cycle.
- carry out feasibility studies and review design alternatives including undertaking site surveys.
- Install and commission instrument control systems.
- actively participate in installation / configuration / implementation and commissioning of products.
- take ownership of C&I technical queries.
- Understand project life cycle from requirements to delivery and develop project documentation.
- ensure timely communication to provide effective turn around on customer feedback and billings.
Essential Experience:
- Strong experience of control and instrumentation engineering.
- Ability to fault find and modify programs in TIA Portal, Simatic Manager & WINCC SCADA V7 or equivalent.
- Be up to date with the latest advances in technology.
- Must have a full UK driving Licence.
Desirable:
- HNC in Instrumentation and Control or equivalent.
- Be able to generate C&I schematic drawings in AutoCAD LT.
- Have gained hazardous Area experience.
- Be results focused and have the ability to meet commitments & deadlines .
