This is a unique opportunity to contribute to technically advanced projects with a strong focus on robust, real-time, and embedded FPGA development.

The Role:
As an FPGA Engineer, you will take an active role in the design, verification, and delivery of VHDL/Verilog-based solutions for complex integrated systems. Collaborating closely with systems, hardware, and software teams, you’ll tackle integration challenges and drive innovation in high-performance environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and verify FPGA designs using VHDL.
  • Manage configuration and version control throughout the development cycle.
  • Produce design documentation and maintain rigorous design traceability.
  • Apply timing and area constraints for efficient place-and-route.
  • Analyse hardware/system-level requirements to derive detailed FPGA specifications.
  • Support integration and verification at both hardware and system level.
  • Liaise with engineering leads and multidisciplinary teams to align on deliverables.
  • Prepare regular technical reports and progress updates.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on FPGA design experience with VHDL or Verilog.
  • Proficiency with development environments such as Quartus Prime Pro, ModelSim, Vivado, or ISE.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx, Intel (Altera), and Microsemi (Actel) toolchains.
  • Solid knowledge of version control systems and configuration management practices.
  • Independent verification expertise and technical risk mitigation.
  • Experience with high-speed serial interfaces and embedded system integration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Extras:

  • Background in safety-critical FPGA development (e.g., RTCA/DO-254 DAL A or B).
  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog/UVM for verification.
  • Prior experience in Aerospace or Defence sectors.
  • Knowledge of embedded processor cores such as ARM within FPGA architectures.
  • Experience incorporating AI functionalities in FPGA designs.
  • Exposure to agile development methodologies and latest FPGA technologies.

Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to work on advanced engineering programmes with a forward-thinking team. Whether you’re an experienced engineer or stepping up to a principal-level role, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to some of the most challenging and rewarding work in the field.
