IBM SAN Storage and Backup admin

K&K Social Resources & Development GmbH is an international recruiting agency that has been providing technical resources in the European region since 1993. This position is with one of our clients in United Kingdom who is actively hiring candidates to expand their teams.

Role: IBM SAN Storage and Backup admin

Location: Warwuick/Leeds, UK - 2-3 Days onsite per week

Technical Expertise

Storage : IBM SAN, Lenovo NAS and Brocade Switch (10+ experience Years)

Backup : IBM Backup Tool (Spectrum Protect)

Key Responsibilities

Manage & administer IBM Storage platforms.

Perform storage provisioning, zoning, replication, firmware upgrades, and performance tuning.

Administer IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) backup environment including schedules, policies, restores, failover , fail back and disk storage operations.

Manage SAN fabrics (Brocade/Cisco), zoning, switch upgrades, and fabric health.

Act as L3 escalation for critical storage & backup incidents.

Plan and execute DR drills, storage migrations, and capacity expansion

Strong hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) & IBM Flash System/SVC.

Solid understanding of SAN/FC, multipathing, VMware / AIX storage integrations.

Experience with replication technologies (Flash Copy, GM, MM).

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Create technical documentation, SOPs, and automation scripts (Bash/Python/PowerShell)
