Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Barnsley (Hybrid – Work from Home Options Available)

Salary: Up to £50,000

The Opportunity

We’re excited to be recruiting an Embedded Software Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering team developing advanced controller solutions. You’ll be joining a well-established R&D organisation with over 25 years of success delivering high-quality, market-leading products.

The Role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll take ownership of embedded software across multiple projects, working closely with cross-functional project teams. Your role will span the full product lifecycle, from developing brand-new solutions to enhancing and maintaining existing systems.

This is a hands-on position where your expertise will directly contribute to the development of next-generation, life-saving devices.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

• At least 3 years’ industry experience in an embedded software role
• Strong Embedded C programming skills
• Experience working with large codebases
• Hands-on experience in an RTOS environment (e.g. FreeRTOS, ThreadX, Segger EmbOS)
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C, and Ethernet

Desirable experience includes:

• Renesas or ARM microcontrollers
• Regulated software development
• Agile development methodologies
