Principal Technical Architect

Location: Hybrid (UK-based – Multiple Office Hubs Available)

Salary: £90,000 – £100,000

Employment Type: Permanent

We're looking for a Principal Technical Architect to take charge of complex client engagements across the UK public sector — shaping cloud strategy, delivering modern architectures, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to success.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on big challenges, values collaboration, and wants to help organisations transform how they deliver services to the public.

• ️ Lead architectural design and delivery across large-scale digital programmes
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, guiding their tech vision
• Oversee technical delivery, ensure quality outcomes, and apply best practices
• Coach and mentor teams, provide meaningful feedback, and drive professional growth
• Support business development — from shaping bids to designing winning solutions
• Help evolve the technical practice and contribute to its long-term growth
• Represent your team and expertise at events, forums, and within the wider industry

Client & Sector Insight

• Strong knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in the UK public sector
• Ability to apply global tech trends and commercial practices to public services

Leadership & Strategy

• Proven experience leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams
• Confident working with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in shaping bids and driving technical solutions

️ Technical Excellence

• Deep experience designing robust, scalable software and cloud architectures
• Past experience as a hands-on engineer , with the ability to guide development teams
• Expert in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and multi-cloud environments
• Knowledge of enterprise security, system integration, and networking best practices
• Familiarity with UK public sector standards such as the Cyber Assessment Framework and Technology Code of Practice

• Experience in client-facing architecture roles across multiple sectors
• Comfortable advising at both strategic and technical levels
• A passion for delivering meaningful change through technology
