A fast-growing international fintech company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Financial Crime Core team, responsible for the AML Screening and Transaction Monitoring platform. This is a critical role in a regulated environment, overseeing systems that perform real-time sanctions screening, detect suspicious payment activity, and ensure compliance with FCA, EU AML directives, and global regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the technical roadmap for AML screening and transaction monitoring
• Lead architecture decisions across event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, SNS/SQS)
• Ensure operational excellence, including SLAs, observability, on-call support, and incident ownership
• Drive delivery, sprint planning, and project execution
• Collaborate closely with Product and Compliance teams
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role
• A strong Engineering background having progressed from Engineer to Management
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and agile delivery experience
• Experience in regulated environments, ideally fintech, banking, or payments
