About KartSim
KartSim develops professional karting simulation software and simulators used by drivers, teams, manufacturers, and coaches worldwide. Our simulation software is built using LiDAR-scanned circuits, real telemetry data, engine dyno testing, and tyre models validated by professional drivers, delivering one of the most accurate karting simulation platforms available.
KartSim simulators are used for driver training, esports competitions, research and development, and motorsport preparation.
Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of simulation engineering, design, and technical development. You will help build and improve simulation content, tools, and systems that support realistic karting simulation environments. You will work closely with engineers, artists, and motorsport professionals to deliver high‐fidelity simulation environments used by drivers and teams worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop highly accurate karting circuit environments.
- Work with LiDAR scan data and reference telemetry to produce realistic simulation environments.
- Build and maintain track and environment assets using 3D tools such as 3ds Max.
- Develop tools and workflows using Python and C++ to improve simulation development pipelines.
- Automate asset processing, simulation configuration, and development workflows.
- Support integration of simulation assets into the runtime environment.
- Assist in the implementation and tuning of simulation systems.
- Collaborate with drivers, engineers, and coaches to validate simulation accuracy.
- Optimise environments and systems for real-time simulation performance.
- Ensure compatibility with multi-display simulator systems and motion platforms.
- Work closely with simulation engineers, artists, and technical staff on new features.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with 3D asset creation and environment development (3ds Max or similar).
- Experience with Python scripting for tools, pipelines, or automation.
- Working knowledge of C++.
- Understanding of real-time simulation or game engine environments.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work across both technical and creative disciplines.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with motorsport simulation or racing simulation platforms.
- Familiarity with vehicle dynamics or physics-based simulation and AI.
- Experience working with LiDAR scan data.
- Experience with rFactor2 or similar simulation software.
- Experience with the Godot Engine.
- Experience with real-time rendering pipelines and optimisation.
