Head of Finance

We are delighted to be recruiting a Number 1 Finance role for a founder led, content & marketing agency operating in the gaming and tech sectors, with clients including Google, Logitech, and Amazon.
We are open to receiving applications from people looking for a full time position but also happy to consider applications from people looking to work part time, on a 4 day a week basis.
We are looking for a highly capable and commercially minded finance leader to take full ownership of the financial operations.
This role is unique in the sense that it won’t just be running the numbers for one
business – you’ll be holding together two very different operating models and helping both move forward.
An established agency with revenue, clients and a sharp focus on commercial performance. But also with a sister company incubated from within; a pre-revenue, funded SaaS business at an early but exciting stage of its lifecycle.
You’ll carry financial ownership for both operations.
You’ll have full responsibility for the finance function, operating end-to-end, from invoicing and creditor payments through to month-end, management reporting, and giving the founders a clear, forward-looking view of the business.
Where the role is evolving significantly is in how information is used. The expectation is that
routine reporting becomes increasingly automated, using the tools already in place and your own initiative with AI, so that your energy goes into interpreting what the numbers mean and what decisions should follow.
This is a role that shifts from producing data to shaping direction.
The pre-revenue venture is what gives this role its real upside. Without it, this would be a solid SME finance lead position. With it, you’re part of building something from the ground up, with exposure to burn rate management, runway planning, investor reporting, and the financial dynamics of scaling a SaaS product.

Candidate requirements
We are an entrepreneurial, relaxed but commercial culture. We are focussed on quality of time and effort rather than stipulating long hours at a desk and adopt a hybrid working pattern.
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post qualified experience gained in a hands-on SME and ideally with experience in multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
Systems: Confident user of Xero and advanced Excel.
Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, proactive mindset, and the ability to translate
numbers for creative non-finance colleagues.
