Business & Client Development Executive
Business and Client Development Executive
Birmingham City Centre | Hybrid – 2 days in the office
We are recruiting for a fast-growing, technology-led business based in Birmingham city centre. This is a genuinely varied and visible position, working as the right hand to a high-energy Business Development Director and supporting the continued growth of an established sales division.
This is not a traditional sales administration role. You will become the operational hub of the team: keeping opportunities moving, coordinating customer activity and ensuring that follow-ups, proposals and contracts do not fall through the gaps.
You will also have the opportunity to become increasingly client-facing, contribute to new market development and shape the position around your strengths. For someone ambitious, there is a clear pathway into a more senior business development role.
Working closely with the Business Development Director and wider sales team, you will:
- Take ownership of coordinating a busy sales pipeline across several salespeople.
- Monitor opportunities and proactively chase actions, decisions and next steps.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and support the transition from Dynamics to HubSpot.
- Identify stalled opportunities and help move them forward.
- Coordinate meetings, diaries and customer communications.
- Contact prospective customers and follow up on behalf of senior sales colleagues.
- Prepare polished presentations, proposals, quotations and contracts.
- Produce meeting agendas and ensure actions are followed through.
- Coordinate contract execution, customer onboarding and renewals.
- Support pipeline reporting, forecasting and wider commercial activity.
- Research new markets and identify prospective customers and commercial partners.
- Build targeted prospect lists and undertake intelligent outreach.
- Work with Marketing on campaigns, events and lead-generation activity.
- Monitor market developments and competitor activity.
- Build relationships with prospective customers and, over time, lead meetings and manage opportunities independently.
Applicants must currently be working as a Business Development Executive, Account Executive, Sales Coordinator, Client Services Executive or in a commercially focused account management role. You will have the ability to combine strong organisation with confidence, initiative and commercial awareness.
You will ideally have:
- Experience supporting or contributing to a business development, sales or account management function.
- Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and customers.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to produce high-quality client materials.
