AI Automation Engineer

We are partnering with a high-performance, technology-driven financial services organisation operating in a mission-critical, low-tolerance environment.

They are seeking a Lead AI Automation Engineer to take ownership of intelligent automation across core business workflows, embedding AI capabilities directly into production-grade RPA platforms.

This is a long-term contract role with significant technical ownership, working closely with senior product, engineering, and operations stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-expectation setting.

This role is 5 days onsite and best suited to candidates who thrive in collaborative, high-accountability environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy AI-enabled automation solutions supporting critical business processes
  • Embed LLM and AI services into UiPath automation pipelines using Python and cloud-native tooling
  • Act as a technical lead across intelligent automation, influencing standards, architecture, and best practices
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, QA, and operations teams on end-to-end delivery
  • Support and enhance hyper-critical production automations with a focus on resilience and performance

AI & Cloud Experience

  • Hands-on experience implementing AI solutions using Gemini and/or OpenAI APIs
  • Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience across compute, data, and AI services
  • Experience building and maintaining Custom GPTs, AI agents, or equivalent LLM-based services
  • Proven ability to integrate AI into automation workflows using Python, UiPath, and cloud-native services
  • Solid Linux/Unix experience (scripting, troubleshooting, system tooling)
  • Intermediate Python proficiency for automation extensions, utilities, and API integrations
  • Strong understanding of AI security risks, governance, and mitigation strategies

Additional Skills

  • SQL experience for reporting, automation, or workflow integration (nice to have)
  • Experience working in Agile, product-oriented environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in high-pressure, high-accountability environments
