Data Warehouse & SQL Developer
We are supporting a well-established financial services organisation seeking an experienced Data Warehouse & SQL Developer to join their IT team on a long term contract basis.
This is a hands-on delivery role focused on SQL Server, SSIS and enterprise data warehousing. You will play a key part in supporting reporting, analytics and business-critical data applications.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS
- Building and optimising data warehouse and data mart solutions
- Developing SQL Server databases including tables, views, stored procedures and functions
- Writing and tuning complex T-SQL queries
- Ensuring data integrity, performance and reliability
- Supporting deployments and ongoing enhancements
- Working closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
Required Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts including star schema, fact and dimension modelling, and slowly changing dimensions
- Strong T-SQL skills including performance tuning and optimisation
- Experience handling large datasets and complex transformations
- Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps
Desirable
- Experience with SSRS or similar reporting tools
- Exposure to Azure Data Services
- Experience within financial services or other regulated environments
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams
