Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within KMPT for an experienced, confident, self-motivated, forward thinking, organised, proactive and enthusiastic Administrator to join the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for West Kent to provide administrative support to theMaidstone, Sevenoaks, Dartford and Gravesham localities. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic and friendly team to provide professional administrative support, resolve day-to-day problems independently, and act as a source of advice for admin assistants.

The job holder will be expected to attend an office base at Coxheath, just over 4 miles outside of Maidstone. There will be an expectation to travel to another base in West Kent for 1 day a week and travel expenses will be provided for this second location. There is some flexibility in where this second location would be depending on post holder preference, this can be discussed at the interview. The job holder will be expected to travel between bases in a timely manner. There is the possibility for remote working in this role for 1 day a week.

Applicants should be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English or equivalent and NVQ Level 3/RSA level 3 or equivalent. You will need to have excellent organisational and keyboard skills, be a competent typist, possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, pay attention to detail and be able to adapt to changing/challenging situations.

Main duties of the job

The job holder will be part of a small team who are a flexible resource serving the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for West Kent, including Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Dartford and Gravesham localities in the provision of excellent administration support. The post holder will be expected to organise work for self and other team members, and have front line contact with service users, carers and the general public or other external stakeholders, as well as internal colleagues. The post includes typing, preparation of correspondence, customer service, organisation e.g. maintenance of effective and efficient working systems, supporting business and performance management, diary management, and organising meetings and events. The post holder will provide day to day supervision, and delegation of tasks to Administrative Assistants within the team. The post holder will be the go to person for queries relating to Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for West Kent and will have centralised oversight for the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for West Kent admin processes with the support of other members of the team.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential
  • Ability to prepare documents to high quality in MS Word (evidenced through supporting statement)
  • 3 years of experience of working in an administration role

  • Experience of working in a health care environment

Qualifications

  • RSA 3/NVQ 2/3 or equivalent experience
