Please note, this role is for 30 - 37.5 hours per week and £31,049 - £37,796 per annum for FTE (37.5 hours). This role will be hybrid working, home based with the requirement to attend our head office in Truro, Cornwall as and when required.

Main duties of the job

The Data Analyst will play a key role in the development, maintenance, and optimisation of reporting solutions across Kernow Health, including Integrated Urgent Care (IUC), Integrated Community Care and Primary Care services.

Working independently and collaboratively, the postholder will support clinical and operational teams by delivering accurate, insightful, and policy-relevant dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Excel. They will respond to both scheduled and ad hoc data requests, automate workflows with Power Automate, and uphold high standards of data quality and governance.

Strong knowledge of NHS terminology, data processes, and reporting requirements is essential, and familiarity with integrated care contexts is highly desirable. The analyst will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including the Integrated Care Board (ICB), to ensure robust and consistent reporting that drives service improvement and informed decision-making.

Job responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, develop, and optimise Power BI dashboards to support Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) reporting, NHS performance metrics, and local intelligence.
  • Build and troubleshoot Power BI semantic models, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and resilience against common report failures.
  • Use Power Query (M), DAX, and SQL (desirable) to create dynamic, reusable, and auditable logic across reports.
  • Automate data workflows using Power Automate to streamline cloud-based reporting processes and reduce manual interventions.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests from internal stakeholders, NHS colleagues, and ICB partners with professionalism and speed.
  • Collaborate with NHS and ICB teams, supporting regular and scheduled submissions of reports and datasets.
  • Ensure high levels of data quality and consistency, reconciling report outputs against expected results and resolving discrepancies.
  • Understand NHS terminology and IUC service models, applying healthcare knowledge to design insightful and policy-relevant visualisations.
  • Manage and transform datasets in Microsoft Excel, integrating spreadsheet-based workflows into broader reporting systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues that lead to report failures, including ambiguous relationships, performance bottlenecks, or data anomalies.
  • Document and maintain clear measures, calculations, and visuals to ensure transparency and auditability.
  • Communicate complex analytical insights clearly to clinical, operational, and non-technical audiences across the organisation.
