IT and Compliance Manager

IT and Compliance Manager | Harrogate Salary: Up to £40,000 We are recruiting on behalf of Harrogate Neighbours, a well-established care charity, who are looking to appoint an IT and Compliance Manager to strengthen digital governance, regulatory compliance and organisational assurance. This is an opportunity to combine IT governance, compliance and automation to improve systems, support operational teams and provide clear oversight across a regulated environment. Based on site: Harrogate (Starbeck), with occasional travel Contract: Permanent, Full-time THE ROLE As IT and Compliance Manager, you will take ownership of compliance frameworks, IT governance and digital improvement initiatives across the organisation, working closely with senior leadership and service managers. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and maintaining the organisation's integrated compliance framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards
  • Coordinating compliance monitoring across departments including care, health & safety and housing services
  • Producing board-level reports, dashboards and risk insights, highlighting trends and areas for action
  • Managing policy frameworks, ensuring documentation is up to date, accessible and audit-ready
  • Maintaining incident and issues logs, supporting investigations and continuous improvement
  • Supporting compliance with CQC, RSH, GDPR and other regulatory requirements
IT & Digital Governance
  • Acting as the key contact for the Managed Service Provider, monitoring SLAs, performance and security standards
  • Overseeing cyber security, patching, device management and disaster recovery processes
  • Supporting system resilience and ensuring compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus and best practice standards
Automation & Improvement
  • Designing and implementing automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform
  • Streamlining manual processes and improving data flow through workflows, integrations and light scripting
  • Supporting the development of secure, efficient digital systems across the organisation
Collaboration & Oversight
  • Acting as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the organisation
  • Working with operational managers to ensure high-quality compliance evidence and processes
  • Supporting facilities and housing compliance alongside relevant teams
  • Providing guidance, training and support on governance and compliance best practice
ABOUT YOU
  • You will have experience in IT governance, compliance or information security, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks and governance
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, Cyber Essentials or similar
  • Experience with Power Automate / Power Apps
  • Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python or similar)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP or ISO 27001 are desirable.
