About the role:We are seeking to appoint a 1-year fixed-term Lecturer in Digital Humanities (AEP) to deliver a range of teaching across our UG program in Digital Media & Culture and our PGT programs in Digital Humanities and Digital Economies. They will be expected to cover teaching in several of the following areas: digital journalism, digital methods and data-driven approaches to media, digital economies, communication and cultural heritage. The post-holder may also be expected to deliver generic training modules on academic writing and dissertation methods. We welcome applicants with experience in any of these or related areas.In the role you will be responsible to the Head of Department of Digital Humanities. Key responsibilities of the role are to deliver high-quality education, to contribute to the future development of the department, and to participate in a supportive, collegiate culture. There will be opportunities to be responsible for aspects of departmental administration. An in-depth understanding of critical digital media studies, digital economies and/or digital methods and data studies Experience and/or demonstrable understanding of designing and delivering teaching. Experience of effective supervision, assessment, marking, and provision of feedback for students at UG and PGT levels. Experience of providing personal and pastoral support for students. Experience of the development of innovative learning materials and pedagogic innovation in teaching.Desirable criteriaExperience supervising dissertation students and UG and PGT level. Experience teaching academic writing skills, methods and methodologies and/or experience with theoretical frameworks. Work experience relevant to the field.
