What You’ll Be Doing
As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will support the design, development, and delivery of data science solutions across the business. You’ll work on:
- Data Exploration & Analysis: Use Python, R, or SQL to clean, explore, and visualise data to uncover patterns and trends.
- Model Building: Assist in developing machine learning and statistical models to solve business problems (e.g., forecasting, segmentation, recommendation).
- Business Insight Generation: Translate data findings into actionable insights that drive decision-making.
- Data Storytelling: Present results through visualisations, reports, and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, product teams, and stakeholders to align on project goals and outcomes.
- Learning & Development: Keep up with the latest tools, libraries, and techniques in data science and machine learning.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- A recent graduate (or soon-to-be) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a similar field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Python or R, and familiarity with data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
- Basic understanding of statistics, data modelling, and machine learning techniques
- Experience working with data (e.g., through coursework, projects, or internships)
- Good communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Nice to Have (But Not Required):
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn
- Experience with SQL and querying databases
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Participation in data science competitions (e.g., Kaggle) or hackathons
