Junior AI Engineer – Job Description

Role Overview

My clients are looking for a Junior AI Engineer to support the development, testing, and deployment of AI and machine learning models. You will work alongside data scientists and software engineers to build intelligent systems that solve real business problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building and training machine learning models
• Clean, process, and analyse large datasets
• Support the development of AI-powered applications and tools
• Help deploy models into production environments
• Write and maintain Python code for AI systems
• Test model performance and suggest improvements
• Work with senior engineers to improve existing AI solutions
• Document technical processes and findings

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Maths, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)
• Strong understanding of Python
• Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail

Desirable (Nice to have)

• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
• Knowledge of SQL and databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud)
• Projects involving AI or machine learning (even personal projects)
• Understanding of APIs and software development

Salary

• £30,000 – £50,000 (UK entry-level range)
